Michigan Online Science Assessment Tool Debuts
October 3, 2006
A newly-developed online science assessment tool for Michigan educators has recently debuted. Over the past two years, a group of science educators from several Michigan Math/Science Centers developed the site which supports learning community work answering the question: How do we know students have mastered the content expectations?
Currently, users log on to: http://www.macombschools.org/scienceassessment/
to select assessment items correlated to Michigan Curriculum Framework science standards and benchmarks as well as MCF Assessment Standards. Items were collected from a variety of released-item sources, including MEAP, TIMMS, ACT, PLAN, NAEP, California and Texas assessments. Teachers can select specific benchmarks or strands from the online tool. A searchable Word document will list all related items housed in the database. Answer keys are provided as well.
The development team welcomes involvement of interested science educators. Please contact Greg Johnson at johnsog@resa.net or Mike Klein at mklein@misd.net if you are willing to help.
