NMU offers on-line Life Science course for K-8 Teachers
May 16, 2007
So many of our K-8 teachers need additional content in science, particularly teachers of self-contained elementary classes and special education teachers. Most of the science graduate courses at universities are offered when teachers cannot attend classes. In addition, they often are beyond the background information of our K-8 teachers. In the fall of 2007 Northern Michigan University is offering a 4 credit ONLINE life science course for K-8 teachers (EDSI 595S Living World - Life Science for K-8 Teachers). This is a laboratory course and the labs are do-at-home labs using everyday equipment. Online experience is not required - this is a great course for a beginner. Please let your teachers know of this great opportunity. For more information contact Carolyn Lowe at clowe@nmu.edu or see http://www.nmu.edu/departments/education/living-world.htm.
