Periodic Reports and Retorts from the Michigan Chemistry Teachers Association

From 1987-1992 Dave Tanis and Annis Hapkiewicz published a newsletter for chemistry teachers called Periodic Reports and Retorts. It was mailed to over 1000 teachers in 1990 and the cost was sponsored by the Camille Dryfus Foundation, the Michigan Chemistry Council and various other groups including several local ACS sections. When the funding stopped we were forced to discontinue the publication. It was at this same time the Metropolitan Detroit Chemistry Teachers' Club (later renamed the Metro-Detroit Chemistry Teachers Association) with Dick Welch mailed mimeographed newsletters. Your recently elected president of MCTA, Annis Hapkiewicz, would like to resurrect the Periodic Reports and Retorts on the MCTA webpage and perhaps email to chemistry teachers who would like to receive periodic information earmarked for chemistry.
