What is not written on the previous pages are the stories of the people that have always been and will continue to be part of MSTA. MSTA remembers...
- endless hours of meetings, long drives, and cold turkey sandwiches.
- the familiar smiles of old friends, and new faces looking younger at each conference.
- warm coffee, cold coffee, and no coffee.
- "how many more objectives are there? and who wrote this one?"
- "this session is full, but you can sit on the floor!" "Gee, thanks."
- heavy bags of stuff from workshops and rock swaps. "What will I do with all of this stuff?"
MSTA remembers change...
- big meetings, small meetings, and snowy meetings.
- ditto machines to copy machines to laser printers.
- Everett High School to Lansing to Detroit to Grand Rapids.
- handouts, "She just took the last one, but I will mail you one; or better yet, get it on-line."
MSTA remembers faces...
- faces of those who are not here today.
- faces of people special to each of us.
- faces working over a typewriter, in a basement doing the books and conference planning, to Associations Management Resources.
MSTA is...
- teachers in the truest sense of the word. Exciting us to question and do our best.
- "This is my 1st teaching year, can you help me?" "Sure."
- "This is my 20th year teaching, can you help me?" "Sure."
MSTA...
- 50 Years of Change: A Legacy for the Future - the work never ends. It cannot as long as there is one more child to teach. This is our mission.
