Region 1 Director: Melissa Foster

Melissa Foster is in her 13th year of teaching middle school science in Southwest Michigan. However, she grew up far away from the shores of Lake Michigan in Plymouth, Michigan.  She attended Michigan State University where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and then continued to finish her Masters in Curriculum from MSU as well. 

Her love of science and especially science curriculum comes from her dad (who would persuade her to come along with him to MSTA conferences when she was still in college). 

She is currently working towards her Ed.S. Degree in Administration and Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. 

When she is not teaching you can find her in her garden tending her microflower farm and hanging out with her four year old son and two year old daughter.
